Biography

James was born about 1758. [This birthdate cannot be correct.] He passed away in 1812.

Notes by Elizabeth (Holder) Harris [Holder-729]:

James Hendricks purchased 162 acres on the forks of the Yadkin River in Rowan County, North Carolina. from Charles Bucy on July 24, 1787.

On October 12, 1810 James sold this tract, and he had land surveyed for himself in Warren County, Kentucky on October 19, 1810.

He moved to Warren County KY about 1810, along with his brother John.

He was one of the administrators of his father's will in May 1804. In 1811 his brother Daniel Hendricks Jr., sister Rachel Hendricks Banks and brother-in-law Cannon Brown, husband of Catherine Hendricks, requested a division of the property of Daniel Hendricks Sr. in Rowan Co. NC. This division was completed in August 1812, with James receiving one of 11 lots. James himself died about the same time, and the property was sold by his son James Jr.:

James wrote his will May 29, 1812, naming his wife Mary and sons James, Peter, Joseph and William. The will was recorded in Warren County in August 1812.
