Hendrick has been documented in various genealogical sources with the two different patronymic names, Jacobsen and Hendricksen (and variant spellings). Records from his adult life call him Hendricksen (and variants), and he is called Jacobsen (and variants) based on his being identified as the son of Jacob Hendricksen Hafte and his first wife Geesje Bartels (apparently their son Hendrik baptized at Midwood on 18 April 1679 together with a sister Catalijntie). Discussing the name, Chris Chester wrote: [1]
Howard S. F. Randolph in "Ancestors and Descendants of Barent Hendrickse Spier and his wife Catalyntje Jacobs Hendricks," NYGBR 55 (1924): 317-320, identifies the Hendrick Hendricksen who married Helena Cortelyou (as her third husband) as the son, Hendrick Jacobs, of Jacob Hendricksen Hafte and his first wife Geesje Bartels. Wilson V. Ledley and B-Ann Moorhouse in "Early Dutch Smiths and Van Boerums," NYGBR 103 (1972): 77, follow Randolph and do not dispute the placement, noting that Hendrick was "also known as Hendrick Hendricksen (using his father's patronymic as a surname, a common practice of the time)."
Biography
Hendrick married his second wife Helena Cortelyou after 4 April 1708, the date of a prenuptial agreement directing that Helena's children by her previous marriages should have equal shares in her estate.[2][3][4] The mother of his earlier-born children was Hendrick’s first wife, Tryntje van Dijk, whom he married about 1703.
Mixed up marriages Hendrickson family
According some genealogies Hendrick Hendrickson (also Hendrickse)( b. circa 1666, d. circa 1738 resided at the Narrows, New Utrecht, Kings County, New York and son of Jacob Hafte Hendricks and Geesje Bartels married twice[5] first Jane Suitgert.[5] and second Helena Cortelyou, daughter of Jaques Cortelyou and Neeltje Van Duyn, circa 1706. [5] His estate was proved on 9 October 1735 at Monmouth County, New Jersey And two children from the marriage with Jane Suitgert.[5]
William Hendricks b. 1671, d. 7 Apr 1711
Daniel Hendrickson b. 1673, d. Jan 1727/28
Note This seems to be impossible he would have been a father of two children and married at age 5-8 , so it probably was this Hendrick Hendricksen who married twice, first Jane Suitgert and second Geesje Bradt and who was the father of Willem (William) and Daniel Hendrickson. ↑ Teunis Bergen indicated that this marriage occurred after 1706, apparently based on evidence regarding the death of Hendrick's first wife, and other researchers had followed that date.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Hendrick by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Hendrickson-102 and Hendricksen-26 are clearly the same person, but I don't want to merge them until there is confirmation of his LNAB and (2) this profile is cleaned up to make it more like a biography and less like a critique of itself.
Ok, so this Hendrick, the father of Geesje and Hendrick, whether he married Helena Cortelyou or not, is the son of Hendrick Willemsz and Gisseltje Bradt.
My guess is , this other Hendrick Hendrickson probably was married twice and is the one that was married to Jane Suitgert (born abt. 1641) or maybe her name was Jannetje (if she was from Utrecht, will check it tomorrow)
Because looking at the Birthdates of sons
Willem and Daniel Hendrickson it seems impossible this Hendrick here (born abt 1666) was their father, these sons were born in 1671 and 1673 a father age 5 or 7/8 of course can't be correct.

http://www.henryhendricks.org/blogEntry/show/11
Old researchers have placed him as the son of Jacob Hendricks Hafte through a misunderstanding of patronymics http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~brouwergenealogydata/p422.htm#i193240
This is why the dates are and the patronymic is weird.
Detaching him from Hendricks-139 and Bartels-11.
