Biography

By the time of the 1871 census John, Bridget and two daughters Elizebeth age 3 and Martha age 5 months are living at 40 Rose Street back lands. Govan, Glasgow.

So far have not been able to find the family in the 1881 census.

Elizabeth's mother Bridget married Patrick Kennedy on 15 Jul 1890. Her name on the cert is given as Bridget Maxwell or Hendry age 39 (dob1851) This time she gives her parents names as James Maxwell - Occpn Cooper (journeyman) and Jane Maxwell m/s Lloyd (dec'd) Her occupation is shown as lodging house keeper at 111 Main Street, Gorbals, Glasgow.

In the 1891 census she is still shown as Bridget Hendry age 40, (dob c1851) running the same lodging house at 111 Main Street. Daughter Elizabeth Hendry age 21 is shown as a dress maker. Patrick Kennedy age 40 is shown as a boarder !!
