John Nelson Henry was born on 26 February 1830 in Kirkoswald, Ayrshire, Scotland[1], , the son of John Henry and Margaret McSevney and was the brother of Agnes Clara (Henry) Spinks, Thomas Henry, Ademia Bryce (Henry) Bradney, Bryce Henry, James Henry, William Henry, Isaac Henry, Hugh Henry, Margaret Mary (Henry) Sinclair, David Henry, Jacob Henry and Agnes (Henry) Rolfe.
John migrated to Australia from Ayshire, Scotland with his parents and siblings aboard the "William Rodgers", arriving at Sydney on 3 December 1838.He married Mary Ann Graham on 3 April 1852 at Scotts Church, Pitt Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia [2]and was the father of John Henry, Mary Jane (Henry) Cummings, Letitia Henry, David Nelson Henry, Amelia Henry, Agnes Mary (Henry) Mornington, Robert William Henry and James Alfred Henry.
John died on 2 November 1902 in Nowra, New South Wales, Australia [3].
