Biography

John Newton Henry born in Ohio, son of John and Polly (Jaqua) Henry.[1]

John N. Henry 28 yrs, clergyman M. E., Diana 22 yrs Huldah 2 yrs, Hrriet A. 5 months, resided in 1850 in Gerry, Chautauqua, NY. [2]

Married in New York and served as a traveling Minister in Western Pennsylvania, and Western New York. Had family and while living in Forestville, New York enlisted in the Union Army (49th NY Vol Inf) in Buffalo, New York. Served the entire war in the 6th Corp, Army of the Potomac as a Hospital Seward. attended medical school in Buffalo, New York after war. Came to Minnesota in abt 1875 and after traveling around the State for a few years looking for the right place to live they finally settled in Champlin, Minnesota. He served as a minister and doctor until his death in 1906.
