Sergeant Samuel Henry Jr served with 4th Virginia Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Samuel Henry Jr is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A053862.

Sergeant Samuel Henry was born in 1762, in Hanover county, Virginia and was living is Augusta county, Virginia at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Samuel enlisted as a Militiaman and served in the 4th Virginia Regiment raised on December 28, 1775, at Suffolk Court House, Virginia, for service with the Continental Army. The regiment saw action at the Battle of Trenton, Battle of Princeton, Battle of Brandywine, Battle of Germantown, Battle of Monmouth and the Siege of Charleston. [1]

Sergeant Samuel Henry is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor # A053862. DAR records indicate that Samuel died July 13, 1824, at Baker's Creek, in Blount county, Tennessee and that his wife was Mary "Polly" Beale. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their sons, Samuel Henry, who married Nancy Logan; William Henry who married 1) Margaret Montgomery, 2) Sarah Utter and 3) Jane (Logan) Tullock; and James Henry, who married Narcissa Howard. Sergeant Samuel Henry is buried in the Bakers Creek Cemetery [3]
