Biography

Jack was born March 30, 1920, the child of John Henry and Cora Humphrey. [1] [2] I know these details from his sister (my mother) and find them in the family trees of others. I have not found a verifiable source for birth. Jack was killed in action, The Battle of the Bulge, January 16, 1945 and is buried In the Luxembourg American Cemetery [3] [4]

In enlistment record, Jack is shown as having 4 years of high school, married, and was skilled at compositors and typesetters (he was a printer by trade). [5] There was no branch assignment at enlistment, at the time of his death he was a Private, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division.

Thank you for the link. I added it to the profile. I have some pictures of the cemetery and grave marker; sweet story - After Jackʻs death and after the war, his best friend went to his parents and asked to marry his widow and help raise Jackʻs daughter. It was that wonderful man and his wife who went to the Cemetery, took the photos and sent them to us.
