Eliza Henry was born about 1849, the daughter of Isabella & Hugh Henry; Isabella Henry, Eliza’s mother died in Eliza & John’s home, Ponsonby, 11th August 1904.
Eliza Henry and John Gittos were married 23rd June 1869
On June 23, at tbe residence of the bride's uncle (Mr. J. Halyday, Shortland Street) by the Rev. J. Buller; John, third son of Mr. B. Gittos to Eliza, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Hugh Henry, Auckland.

OBITUARY.
MRS. JOHN GITTOS - Another old colonist. Mrs. John Gittos died yesterday at her late residence, Hamilton Road, Ponsonby. Mrs. Gittos was born in Auckland 67 years ago, and was the daughter of the late Mr. Hugh Henry, one of the earliest pioneers of this city. The deceased is survived by her husband, and by four sons and three daughters. The late Rev. W. Gittos the well-known mission worker among the Maoris, who died some twelve days ago, was a brother of Mr. Joh Gittos.

OBITUARY
MRS. JOHN GITTOS - A highly respected old resident of Auckland, Mrs.John Gittos died at her residence, Hamilton Road, Ponsonby, yesterday. Mrs. Gittos was born, in Auckland 67 years ago and lived in this district her whole life. Her father was the late Mr. Hugh Henry, who was one of the pioneers of the Auckland timber industry. For some years the family lived at Waitakere, while Mr. Henry was engaged in the timber business in the ranges.. For the last quarter of a century Mr. and Mrs. John Gittos resided in Ponsonby. The interment was private at Waikaraka Cemetery, the service at the grave being conducted by the Rev. Isaac Jolly (Presbyterian) and the Rev. C. H. Garland (Methodist). Mrs. Gittos is survived by her husband and by three daughters .(Mesdames W. Morpeth, L. Prime, and P. Earl), and Messrs. John Henry (Waikato), Benjamin Frank (Auckland), Vivian Leonard (in camp) and Albert Hugh Gittos (Queensland).
