He married first Nellie May Sands on 28 January 1898 in Key West in a ceremony performed by Chas. W. Frazer, Minster of the Gospel.[2] Ulrich became a widower when Nellie died in 1933.[3]
Ulrich died 22 August 1956 in Key West,[5] and he is buried there in the City Cemetery.[6]
