He had a contract of marriage to Helen Home[1] as early as 2 Feb 1449 but he was not yet of age so the actual union was later than that date. They had issue:
The marriage contract to Helen Home is dated 2 Feb 1448 using the old calendar when the new year did not start until 25 Mar. Adjusting for a start of year in 1 Jan gives the adjusted year as 1449. No adjustment has been make for the switch from the Julian to Gregorian calendar.
When the marriage contract was signed, Alexander was not yet of age and one can infer his birth after 2 Feb 1435.
Alexander Hepburn was born at of Whitsome, Scotland. He married Janet Napier, daughter of Sir Alexander Napier, Provost of Edinburgh and Elizabeth Lauder, before 1491. Alexander Hepburn died after 4 November 1508.
