Hi Gloriajean. Welcome to WikiTree. Your comment upon volunteering caught my eye. It sounds like you're a great new addition to our community. Thanks for joining.
We are really happy that you took the Pre-1700 certification Quiz. Thank
you for doing your part to make WikiTree an accurate and openly
collaborative place for genealogists to share their research.
Do you have some 1700's people in your tree already ? Now that you have the
badge, you can take part in one of our
projects.
If you have a FamilyTreeDNA test, please also join our new WikiTree DNA group project from your FTDNA account page for your kit number. You can join as many FTDNA projects as you believe will help your research, so we hope you will join our FTDNA WikiTree project: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/WikiTree
As every experienced genealogist knows, incorrect family tree information can be found all over the internet. Some mistakes get repeated on WikiTree over and over again, requiring our best members to spend their time fixing these same mistakes over and over again. Its led many good genealogists to give up on the entire idea of a collaborative single family tree.
So we are really happy that you took the Pre-1700 certification Quiz.
Do you already have some 1700's people in your tree already ?
Would you like to become involve in one of our projects ?
Feel free to ask [email address removed] or any mentors if you have question .
Thank you for your decision to contribute. WikiTreers have all sorts of skills, but one common interest - genealogy. I would recommend first looking around and become familiar with the various functions.
The main menu, located at the top right of the page, offers access to the most important features amongst them your Wiki-ID. In the help section »G2G« at the bottom, youll find the WikiTree online help. You can ask all sorts of questions, technical and others, and because WikiTree is worldwide, there is almost always someone online, who can give a qualified answer. Good luck! - And don't forget to sign the Honor Code. Pleasure to have you aboard.
Hello everyone! I have found searching for family members so very interesting! Sometimes I would come to a "brick wall" and then with continued pursuit of searching I'll stumble onto a tidbit of info that unfolds a whole new line of family members... I'm sure you all have been there for that special feeling of success!! Unfortunately there is not enough time in the day for my ancestral investigations. I am a cake decorator/ florist by day and an assisted living caregiver by night. In the future, I hope to have a DNA test, further my findings and share. Happy hunting all!!
2. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
