OBITUARY THOMAS McLEAN HEWITT
The death occurred in the Dubbo District Hospital on Saturday night of Mr. Thomas McLean Hewitt (87), well-known Dubbo resident for a great number of years. Deceased was born at the Ophir goldfields, near Orange, and as a young
man came to Dubbo, where he married Miss Clara Margaret Hutchinson, who
survives with an adult family. Deceased was a brother of William Hewitt (90) , who was murdered by James Earsman (65), at Gilgandra several years ago. For almost all his life the late Mr. Hewitt had resided at Old Dubbo, but in recent years made his home in Darling Street. Surviving members of the family are
Mesdames W. Burley (Dubbo), D. McCarron (Peak Hill), M. Stoddard (Dubbo), F. Lambert (Newcastle), G. Ingram (Dubbo), Messrs. Thomas and Joseph (Dubbo) and John (A.I.F.). Following a service at the Holy Trinity Church, the funeral took place in the Church of England portion of the Dubbo cemetery on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Canon C. W. Leavers officiated at the service and graveside.
