Biography

Mary (Polly) Hewitt was born 01 Dec 1781, to [[Hewitt-38|Charles Hewitt & Hannah Stanton Hewitt of Stonington, Connecticut. She was their ninth and final child.

On 25 May 1811, she became the second wife of Richard Wheeler II. This meant she also became the step mother to his remaining 2 children from his first marriage to Anna Gallup, Jemima and Lydia. Together Mary and Richard had two more children.
