Biography

Hannah Hewitt, daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Fanning) Hewitt, was born on 17 June 1697 at Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut.[1] She was baptized on 29 June 1701 at Stonington.[2][3]

She married Ensign Increase Billings, son of Ensign Ebenezer Billing and Anne Comstock, on 26 Dec 1719/20 at Preston, New London Co., Connecticut. [2]. Her elder sister Mary had married Increase's elder brother James a few years previously, indicating strong lengths between these two early New London families.

She and Ensign Increase Billings were admitted to church on 11 July 1725 at Preston First Congregational Church, Preston, New London Co., Connecticut.[4]

Hannah died on 17 Dec. 1748[3] at Stonington, New London, Connecticut and was buried at Great Plain Cemetery, North Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. Her memorial has a photo and links to those of family members.[1]
