Stanton Hewitt, born 8 Oct 1760, was the third child of Hannah (Stanton) Hewitt (1736-1805) and Charles Hewitt (1730-1804) of Stonington, Connecticut.

Stanton married LUCINDA GRANT, 13 May 1784, at North Stonington (VR & Bible). Lucinda was born in Stonington, 3 Oct 1766 (VR & Bible), daughter of Oliver Grant and Ann Borodell Billings; she died in North Stonington, 7 Jan 1847, age 80 years (tombstone & Bible). Both she and Stanton were buried at the Hewitt Cemetery in Stonington.
Stanton and Lucinda resided in North Stonington, Conn. where all of their children were born. He was a farmer, and held several public offices in the town, and was elected Representative from North Stonington in 1818 and 1825.
Stanton Hewitt died 13 May 1844 in North Stonington [1]. His grave is in Hewitt Cemetery, North Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2].
No will has been found for Stanton but an inventory was taken on 31 July 1844 (North Stonington Probate Records). The family Bible has survived and is now located in the Connecticut State Library at Hartford, Connecticut.
