Biography

Benjamin Hewitt was born 8 Aug 1774 in Stonington, Connecticut to Henry Hewitt and his second wife Phebe Prentice [1]. He was a twin of his brother Joseph Hewitt.

Benjamin Hewitt married Desire Babcock in Stonington, 21 Oct 1798. They had 9 children, as profiled.

In 1850, Benjamin & Desire (Babcock) Hewitt lived in North Stonington. Benjamin was a farmer [2] In 1860, they lived on a farm in North Stonington with their son, Joseph, and his family.[3]

Benjamin Hewitt died in 1867 in North Stonington.[4] He is buried there in Wheeler Cemetery #62: Find A Grave: Memorial #17670232
