Biography

Michael Hickey was born on March 3, 1837 in Ireland. He was the son of James & Mary Hickey. His family migrated arriving in the United States in about 1850.

In the 1860 United States census Michael (age 23) was living with his parents and 2 brothers in Pierce Township, DeKalb, Illinois, United States. All of the men in the household worked as farm labourers.^[1]

Michael married Honora Considine on 12 October 1861 in Knox, Illinois, United States.^[2] Together they had at least 6 children.

In the 1880 census Michael (age 42) was the married head of household in Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri, United States. He was a farmer living with his wife and 6 children.^[4]

In the 1900 census Michael (age 61) was the widowed head of household in Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri, United States. He lived with his children Sara, Thomas and Ellen and a boarder.^[5]

Michael died on 18 March 1906 and was buried in Saint Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri, United States.^[6]
