Bridget est née le 15 novembre 1836, County Limerick, en Irelande, du mariage de Thomas Hickey et Ellen Gleeson. Son père Thomas est décédé en mer pendant qu'il immigrait au Canada, en 1846, avec sa femme et ses enfants Bridget, Mary et Patrick. Il fut enterré à St-John, Nouveau Brunswick.
Le 20 février 1855, à l'Eglise St-Pierre, Bridget épousait André Roy Jr, veuf de Lucie Félicité Campbell, et lui donna 7 autres enfants, et devenait ainsi la matriarche de tous les descendants d'André Roy Sr vivant à Pain Court:
