1732 Benjamin was appointed the first deacon of the Wilton Church. He also served in the Hartford General Assembly and was a Justice of the Peace for Fairfield County. [1]
There is a transcription of Benjamin and Sarah's wills in the Hickok Genealogy. The wills were filed and probated in Norwalk CT (the town that at the time included Wilton). Their living children and a grandson by their deceased daughter Sarah are all mentioned. [1]
Benjamin was married to Sarah (Lockwood) Selleck after she was widowed. They were married on February 3 of either 1713 or 1714 in Stamford CT. [1]
According to the Henry Bronson in "The History of Waterbury, Connecticut", page 150. Benjamin "had a suit in the Superior Court at Fairfield about a negro boy, Dunboy, whom he claimed and attached."
The will of Benjamin Hickox of Norwalk, Fairfield, was dated 7 June 1745 and proved 24 Nov 1745. He names wife Sarah, eldest son Silas, 2d son Ezra, grandson Silas Clark, son of Daughter Sarah decd., son Bethal, grandson Nathan Hickox, grandson Ezra Hickox, daughter Abigail. Sons, Silas and Ezra, named executors.[7]
