Thomas Hicks was a Judge of Queen's County, Long Island, New York from 1738 until his death in 1777.
He married in either 1725, likely not 1755 as their children started arriving by 1726 ... his wife was his cousin Margaret Hicks, daughter of his uncle Judge Isaac Hicks.

I've been researching some old wills and within was a Thomas Hicks named as a witness of a will c 1675 - so likely a generation earlier and maybe someone else completely as it is in "American Wills Probated in London" database on ancestry.com
