It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Margaret by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Margaret:

Hicks-705 and Hicks-246 appear to represent the same person because: while the year is different by 2 years on her birth, the date is identical

Nobody's managing this profile and Kentucky was not in existence in 1652... nor have I seen tell of a daughter Margaret. I'm removing her as child of Hicks-240... if any evidence to the contrary we can put the relationship back and fix her birth location/etc.

PS: It's doubtful that this is the correct John Hicks as a parent if Margaret was born in Kentucky. I have seen nothing to indicate that John was ever in KY...Massachusetts and New York and Rhode Island but that's all I can find.  :(

Carey,

I have not been able to find any information regarding a child of Herodias Long named Margaret. Herodias and Hicks were separated by 1643 and legally divorced by 1645. Herodias was already living with Gardiner by 1643 as well. This cannot possibly be her child...perhaps John's by one of his later wives? In the meantime, I am going to remove Herodias as a mother..If I come across anything in regards to your Margaret I will let you know. Sorry. Didn't mean to make more work for you.  :( Nae
