Thurston Hicks was the oldest son and second child of Benjamin Willis Hicks and Isabella Jane Crews. He married Mary Eliza Horner and had four children. He was a lawyer in Henderson NC.
Near the end of his life, he wrote a book which was published privately in 1926 (reprinted by his son in 1954) which is considered a primary source for genealogical research in the Vance and Granville County areas.
