Hi!

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few quick tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, Merging and Templates.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help!

Hi Richard! Now that you've had a bit of time to enjoy WikiTree, here are a few more features you may find useful:

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found on the Bio Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom, or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Hi Richard

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. Our Forum is searchable or you can post a question there. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions ~Terry~

Hi there !

How are you finding your experience on WikiTree? Do you have any questions about growing your family tree here ? You can always ask me or one of the greeters or mentors or at G2G . We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Having trouble starting your tree ? Look at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Person_Profile or one of the how- to videos in the Help section. Maggie

Thank you, Richard, for helping to grow our worldwide family tree. What a blessing to have your mother's help. The more ancestors you add, the more likely cousins will find you and provide even more data and photos.

Our Honor Code, G2G message forum, help pages, search features, and many other useful links can be accessed from the menus on the upper right corner of most pages.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger your branches and our mutual global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

Our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please try very hard not to add any duplicates to our shared tree.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree!

Primarily I was interested in volunteering here to complete "my own" segment of the family tree however having read through how wikitree intends to link A to B and on to Z, through its shared tree i'm intrigued further as to who may be waiting in the wings that I can link to with the limited family knowledge I have access to.

This profile will essentially be a "shared" effort, my mother who is the primary person interested in tracing members of her family but is not too computer savvy, will also be contributing via me.

By any chance, are you related to any Hicks from Union Co., Arkansas or Autauga Co., Alabama?

Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree. :o)
