Biography

Beulah "Bea" Mary Hicks was born in Moore Township, Lambton, Ontario, the daughter of Fred Hicks and Priscilla Dixon/Dickson on February 11, 1919.[1][2]

Bea became a registered nurse, and spent time working at the Bowmanville Hospital before moving on to a post in Aurora.

She married Sgt. Stuart Hogarth of the Bowmanville area on May 22, 1943 in Aurora.[3][4]The couple also visited Solina shorly after wedding.[5] Bea then returned to her work as Stuart went back overseas. Bea was widowed when Stuart was killed in action in France on September 4, 1944.[6]

In 1948, she was living in Toronto, as noted in the Aurora Social News on the occassion of a visit to her brother, Rev. Roy F. Hicks.[7]

Bea married George Clark sometime after the end of his previous marriage in 1986, having apparently returned to Lambton County.[8]

Bea Clark passed away in 2008.[1][2]
