Biography

Abraham Hiestand, Jr. was born about 1768,[1] probably in Shenandoah (currently Page) County, Virginia; he was the son of Abraham Hiestand and Magdalene Boehm.[2] [See Research Notes below regarding the spelling of his surname.]

By 1792,[3] Abraham's parents had moved their family from Virginia to Cocke County, Tennessee, where on 10 Mar 1792, Abraham's mother, Magdalene Heaston [sic], was received by letter of recommendation into the Big Pigeon Baptisth Church, Cocke County, Tennessee.

On 26 Jun 1801 in Glasgow, Barren, Kentucky,[4] Abraham Hiestand married Susan Cummings. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Reverend John Mulkey, who was influential in the Restoration Movement in Kentucky and Tennessee.

In 1810,[1] Abraham Hastings [sic] was living in Burksville, Cumberland County, Kentucky as head of household, which included (age range): a) males - 2 (<10), 1 (10 - 15), 1 (26 - 44); b) females - 2 (<10), 1 (10 - 15), 1 (26 - 44). Of note, on the same census enumeration sheet,[1] next or close Abraham's enumeration, were the enumerations for Abraham's brothers, Daniel Hastings [sic] and Henry Hastings [sic]. As such, the 3 brothers were living close to, if not next to, one another in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

On 23 Apr 1814 in Cumberland County, Kentucky,[2] Abraham Heastand, Jr., Henry Heastand, and Mary Heastand Lee gave a power-of-attorney to Joel Moore to facilitate obtaining their respective inheritances from the estate of their deceased mother, Magdalene (Boehm) Hiestand.

Hiestand-50 and Hiestand-216 do not represent the same person because: being from the hiestand family, abraham hiestand ( H-50) married 3 women and none of them were Susan Cummins...you might need to do further research but the papers i have come from the hiestand family from my mom...

Hiestand-50 and Hiestand-216 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate
I think the birth and death dates for Abraham belong to Hiestand-50, son of Jacob, and should be removed from Hiestand-216.
