Research Notes
missing years - unable to find any credible primary sources for Aaron Hiestand/Heaston after the 1850 census. Hiestand-529 22:58, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
it is unclear whether Aaron died between 1850 - 1860 or he & Mary divorced. In the 1860 - 1880 federal census enumerations for Mary Hiestand, she was the head of household for 1860 & 1870, and in the 1880 census, Mary was recorded as divorced. The 1880 federal census was the 1st federal census to explicitly record marital status.
