Rosa Elizabeth (Higdon) Kirksey was born on 12 Oct 1906 in Loree, Conecuh, Alabama, United States, daughter of James Jefferson Higdon (1860 - 1917) and Mary Alice (Stokes) Higdon (1866 - 1920).

Residence

•  In the 1910 census, Rosa (age 4) was the single daughter of James J Hidgon in Belleville, Conecuh, Alabama, United States.^[1]
• In the 1930 census, Rosa (age 23) was in Loree, Conecuh, Alabama, United States.^[2]

Rosa died on 17 Feb 2002 in Alabama aged 95.^[3]

Original details:

In about 1995 a friend from New Orleans visited in Effie's place in Bermuda. His name was Paul Wagner. He was the poster child of the American hunter and fisherman. We attempted a little fishing in Uncle Buddies pond without much success. I did not wish to disappoint Paul so we walked up to the old Higdon house to ask Roan for permission to fish in that pond. Much to my surprise your mother answered the door. Rosa would have been about 89 or 90 at that time. I explained the Paul and I wished to fish with her permission. She replied that I could do so at any time as long as we signed the guest sheet. I then ask if she had heard if fishing had been good lately. Then we were surprised by her reply. She said "It was good early this morning, i went down and caught a good mess."
