Biography
Levi Higgins was born in about 1787 - 1791 in Laurens County, South Carolina. He was the son of Jesse Higgins and Hannah Dunlap.[1]
He married first Margaret Simons on 10 September 1809 in Christian County, Kentucky.[2]
He married second Catherine Simons on 14 September 1830 in Todd County, Kentucky.[3] Todd County was carved from Christian County in 1820.
In 1850, Levi appears as the head of his household in Crawford County, Illinois.[4]
Levi died after 1850, most likely in Crawford County, Illinois.

Birth Year
His unsourced Find a Grave memorial gives a birth year of 1787 which is consistent with the 1850 census. However, the birth order given by Bailey in the article cited in this profile places Levi as the third child and estimates a birth year of 1790.
Death Date
Some researchers give an exact death date of 10 Feb 1851, but the original source for this claim is unknown.
