Biography

Ebenezer Higgins was born on 23 August 1749 in Eastham, Massachusetts. His parents were Ebenezer Higgins and Martha (Burgess) Higgins[1].

He married Rebecca Dyer on 14 April 1772 in Truro[2]. They relocated to Gorham, Maine, around 1781. They had seven children[3]:

1. Ebenezer, born 24 Jul 1775
2. Rebecca, born 11 Apr 1780; married Nathaniel Blake
3. Hannah A., born 20 Aug 1782; married Jeremiah Frost
4. Martha, born 21 Jun 1781; married John Cressey
5. David, born 3 Nov 1787; married Catherine Jordan
6. Susanna, born 14 Apr 1789; married Timothy Blake
7. Desire P., born ca. 1793; married Ephraim Blake

Ebenezer's date of death is uncertain, but his widow remarried in 1801, so he likely died before that[4].
