Biography
Mary Higgins was born on 18 May 1833 in Irvine, Scotland to parents Daniel Higgins and Mary Smithers. She married first John Galt on 29 Dec 1854 in Glasgow, Scotland. Children: Janet, John. After her husband John died in 1863 she married second John Rankeillor on 29 Dec 1871 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Children: Agnes. She died on 1 Oct 1891 in Partick, Glasgow, Scotland.
John Galt was a draper. John Rankeillor was a boilermaker journeyman. Her father Daniel Higgins was a hand-loom weaver.
