Biography

Moses was born in 1749. Moses was probably the next to the youngest of the 7 brothers. He was about 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, large, fair shin & fair hair, blue eyes, a very dignified and commanding gentleman.

Married Jane Jetter 1757 - 1838. She was a large woman, weighed about 260 to 270 lbs. tall and stately, coal black hair, fair complexion, regular features, very small feet and hands for one her size. She outlived Moses 12 to 14 years, died at daughter's home in Greensboro, AL. Moses and Jane were married at a place called Hobb's Hole, on the James River, between Richmond and Norfolk VA.

He died in 1829.

The original stock was from Manchester, England. In about the year 1770 they were found in Caroline County, Virginia.
BIOGRAPHY:

I. William Higgins had land surveyed for himself in King William County, Virginia, in 1720. He had seven sons and one daughter, William, Moses, Aaron, Captain James, John, Joel and Jesse... Aaron was the first to come to Kentucky and claimed a settlement and preemption of land for himself and his brother, Captain James... in the year 1776.... after this he went back to Virginia, but returned to Kentucky in 1783, with all his brothers, their wives, children and household goods...

II Joel Higgins [1748-1807]... family consisted of his wife, Drucilla, two sons, Richard and William, a daughter Mildred, who married John Chinn, and a daughter Mary, who married a Mr Richardson.

III. Richard Higgins [1770-1843] was born in Caroline County, Virginia, and migrated to Fayette County in 1788. He died in Lexington... His wife was Sallen Allen, daughter of Richard and Ann [Wisdom] Allen, who migrated from Spottsylvania County, Virginia in 1786 , to Fayette County...

IV. Joel Higgins.... born in 1802 and died in 1859... His wife was Ann Louise Gibson [1804-1881], daughter of Rev Randal Gibson [1766-1836] and his wife, Harriet McKinley [1771-1837], daughter of John McKinley and his wife, Mary Connelly, who were married 1763, in Cork Ireland...' https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/LY95-3RK

Higgins-2393 and Higgins-724 appear to represent the same person because: Looks like the same guy. Same parents/wikitree numbers. Spouse has a duplicate to merge also.
