Cornelia was the daughter of William W. Higgins and Cornelia Amanda Howes.
She married John Milton Kenyon 20 November 1872, Michigan City, La Port, Indiana.
Obituary (Michigan City News, May 24, 1899, page 1 col 2):
Mr. N.P. Rogers received a telegram Monday morning conveying the news of the death in Toledo, Ohio, last night of Mrs. Cornelia Kenyon, who was once a resident of this city and well known here.
Mrs. Kenyon was a daughter of W.W. Higgins, one of the prominent men in the early history of Michigan City, Mr. Higgins having been mayor of the city for a number of years and warden of the Indiana state prison.
Mrs. Kenyon was born and raised in this city and was married here to Mr. Kenyon and went soon after with him to Toledo, where she has since resided. Mrs. Kenyon was about 50 years old and leaves one sister, Mrs. Kate Ellsworth, of Toledo, and one brother, Oscar A. Higgins, of Stockton, Kansas.
The funeral and interment will take place at Toledo.
