  • (1) In the Pioneer Cemetery in Middle Muquodoboit, Nova Scotia. Mem. # 226639163
  • (2) In the Forestvale Cemetery in Helena, Montana. Mem. # 53045218

James "Innis" Higgins is buried in Helena, Montana, and has a gravestone there. His name was added to the "Higgins" family stone in the Pioneer Cemetery (Middle Muquodoboit, Nova Scotia) in his memory. The family story is that it would have cost too much to bring his body home to Nova Scotia.

In Jennie Reids book she notes that James "Innis" Higgins died in Montana but is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Nova Scotia. (Most likely because his name is on the family stone)
