Major L. Higgs Dies Saturday
Major Lee Higgs, 72, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at his home near Dixonfollowing an illness of several months.
Survivors are the wife, Gertrude; five sons, Lee, of Evansville, Gasteland George of Henderson, Frank and John W., near Dixon; two daughters,Mrs. Forest Stone and Mrs. Stonewall Price, Dixon; one brother, FrankHiggs, of Corydon; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the General Baptist churchin Poole, with the Rev. E.Y. Laslie officiating.
burial was in Shady Grove cemetery at Poole.
