Biography

Sara Hill, the daughter of Zebulon Hill and Eliazabeth (Dike) Hill, was born in Salem on 22 June 1675.[1]

Sarah married Joseph Morgan on 25 October 1694 in Beverly, Massachusetts.[2][3][4]

Sarah died in Beverly sometime between September 1732 and July 1734.[5]

Research Notes

The will of her father, John Hill mentions Philip Hill. son; Elizabeth Marston, daughter; Abigail Allen, daughter; Sarah Morgan, daughter; Benjamin Ashby, grandchild; Elizabeth Ashby, grandchild; John Hill of Beverly, brother. He writes further, "... my will is that what was willed by my son Zebulon Hill to his Brothers and Sisters shall be in according to Said Will divided amongst ..." Witnesses to the will were Robert Hale, Abigail Hill, ?Abigail Grover. [6]

Specifies this is "Articles of Agreement made & agreed upon & confirmed" the [24 May 1708] between "Abigail Relict widow of John Hill late of Beverly .. Cooper, Decd, & administratrix to ...sd John Hills Estate on ye one party" and particular relatives of John Hill as the other party listed as "Philip Hill of Salem …, Cooper"; "Joseph Allen with Abigail his wife, Neice to ye Deceased John Hill"; "Elizabeth ___ Widow of William Marston, late of said Salem, Mariner Dec'd & Neice also to sd John Hill"; and "Joseph Morgan, Junr of Beverley aforesd, Taylor, with Sarah his wife Neice also to ye sd Deceased John Hill." The relations so listed "renounce ... and forEver Quit Claim unto Abigail Hill ... all of sd. Deceased John Hill's Estate ..." [Separately, by the will of Zebulon Hill (1699), Philip Hill, Abigail (Hill) Allen, Elizabeth (Hill) Marston and Sarah (Hill) Morgan are known the surviving children of Zebulon Hill.] [7]
