Ancestry suggests that Sir John Merritt Hill "Hayle" Jr (Nov 1, 1572-Nov 25, 1635) is my tenth great grandfather. It looks like he may be the same person as your John Hill (1571 - 1635) here. The dates and places match, and he was reportedly married to Lady Jane Gaud. He apparently had a son named John Ellis Hill (d. 31 MAY 1664 • Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts), who emigrated to Massachussetts in the 1630s. From then on the descent to me is fairly clear, but there are very few sources for "Sir John Merritt Hill "Hayle" Jr." I'd like to confirm that he was actually the father of my ancestor John Ellis Hill, and if so, add John Ellis Hill as his child.

Thanks
