Naples, Fla. — Everett A. Hilliard of Naples, Fla. and Gloucester, passed away on December 4. He was born in Lowell, on December 3, 1931 to Alyce and Everett Hilliard. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Lyn); two daughters, Kristen Hilliard of Earlton, N.Y., Lisa Reed and her husband, Peter Reed; two grandchildren, Kate and Anna Reed of No. Andover. He was a graduate of Lowell Technological Institute and started his career as a chemist. While working for B.F.Goodrich, he helped to develop artificial turf. Later, he spent many years as an investment ddviser, ending his career as Vice President of Investments for Smith Barney, Inc. As a child he helped his father build their family home. Later, he used these skills to build his family vacation home on Cape Cod. His favorite pastimes were sailing, making model boats, and golfing. He was a member of Qauil Run and Rockport Golf. He had a wonderful sense of dry humor that was evident up to the end of his life. He was an active member of Danvers Maple St. Church and No. Naples Methodist Church.
