Biography

Mary (Hilton) Brandling was born in England.

Mary was probably young when her father, Thomas Hilton (d.v.p 1597/8), esq. of Hilton, wrote his will on 14 February 1597. The document identifies her as, "Mary Hilton." Her brother Henry, esq. succeeded their grandfather, Sir William, after their father predeceased him.

Marriage

Mary became the second wife of Robert Brandling, esq. 'heire of the Felling' (bp. 23 Jan 1574/5 - d. c. 1635/6), and is the mother of his two youngest sons:

Robert (b. c. 1617/20, age 45 on 14 Aug 1665 - d. 1669).
Roger (b. prob. after 1621)
