Biography

Catherine Barbara was born in 1754, but September 1, 1754 is actually her baptism, not birth. (Source: Bell.)

She is the child of George Himmelman and Anna-Maria Pentz. Other bio info comes from Vogler-Kaulback et al., or the Shankle dataset of demographic events (see Sources, below).

Info from Vogler-Kaulback et al.: Died 6 Nov. 1849. (That would make her 95 at death - J. deR.) Husband's surname was Acker. (I can't find a record of this death, in Shankle, under Acker. Could it be that this is not the name of her husband, but that some confusion arose because this woman's sister did marry an Acker man? Also note: This sibling set, seemingly the only one who produced Himmelman descendents in Nova Scotia, consists of only 3 sons but 7 daughters. The genealogy by Vogler-Kaulback is silent about offspring of the 7 women, although descendents of women in subsequent generations are included. Of the 3 sons, Peter & Ludwig & Michael, this documents traces descendents of two, but notes that Ludwig moved to Eastern Passage, near Dartmouth, and gave rise to numerous descendents, but notes merely that "male Himmelmans have apparantly 'died off' or moved on [from that locale]. Some married girls live there." None of Ludwig's progenny appear in that version of the genealogy." - J. deR.)

Info from Shankle: I find no pertinent records in this source, under "Acker," other than the marriage of her sister Anna Catherine to Valentine Acker in 1782.
