This may be my ancestor...he died in Richmond County, NC between 1803 (year of will) & 1805 (probation of will)...I believe him to be the son of Thomas & Elizabeth Jones Hines...several genealogist refer to his birth as 1744...I believe this conclusion came from a Va. archived source referring to taxes or other documentation...his DOB to be circa 1730 ...Some genealogist list him as a child of Thomas & Elizabeth Jones Hines, born 1744, making him one of the younger children of Thomas & Elizabeth...I believe he was one of the oldest, left Va. settled on the Pee Dee River in Richmond County... was planter, slave owner, lived in a large home...had a son named Thomas, a daughter named Elizabeth & son/grandson named Nathan Jones...represented Richmond co., NC in House of Commons circa 1775.
