"Sam" was a farmer in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Besides farming, he also mined and sold Coal to the population of Somerset, and the wagon trail residences along the way to and from White Lily. He and Martha served as the Post Office for White Lily for many years. He was the husband of Martha E. Baker and the father of William, Porter, Marie (ne Marcy reported elsewhere), Hazel, Thelma, Emeline (Jackie), Lela (Peggy), Verda Mae, James, Jr. (Jim) and Ralph.
