Biography

Mrs. Lucinda Murr, wife of Wm. Murr, who passed away Dec 9, 1902 was 51 years of age and had been married 33 years. She was the mother of 11 children, all of whom are living except the oldest boy, who died some 20 years ago.

Mrs. Murr united with the church at an early age, and has always lived a true christian life, being ever active in all work pertaining to the upbuilding of the cause of Christ, and was always kind hearted, having a kind word and pleasant smile for every one whom she met.

She will be greatly missed, both at home and in church and Sunday School work, but her many relations and friends have the assurance that she has only passed on before, and we can way; Blessed are the dead, that die in the Lord, for while she is at rest, her works do follow her.

The funeral was ably preached by Rev. Dave Long from the theme; "I have fought the good fight, etc." and was listened to by a large audience. While she passed away in the sight of her loved ones on earth, yet they often feel:

Oh, how vivid is the picture, Memory brings to me today, Of her face so calm and patient, As she in her coffin lay. Of her hands so gently folded, On her cold and silent breast; Gone where the wicked cease from troubling, And the weary are at rest. Weep not for her, for she is blest, Her soul has entered into rest; And now arrayed in robes of whith, She stands among the sons of light. Weep not for her though tears arise.
