Biography

Ann (Hinton) Alston was part of a Southern Pioneer Family.

Ann Nancy Alston was born about 1710, Chowan, North Carolina, she died about 1784, Warren, North Carolina. She is the daughter of John Hinton and Mary Hardy.[1]

Ann Nancy Alston and Solomon Alston were married after 21 June 1730, in Bertie County, North Carolina. Ann's father John Hinton, in his will dated 21 June 1730, still had her listed as Ann Hinton. She is the only daughter that John Hinton had an additional message for in his will: "Item: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved daughter Ann Hinton one feather bed with one rug, one blanket and one pair of course sheets with the rest that she hath all ready received and I say to her and her heirs for ever." Ann was not included in receiving any additional part of the estate, and her father had mentioned she had already received something from him before he wrote his will.[2] [3]

Ann died before her husband Solomon wrote his will on 18 April 1784, he didn't mention her in his will, only their children, and their families. 1780 has been given as her death year, no source for that date.[3]

Hinton-817 and Hinton-53 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these are the same person, death date on Hinton-817 needs checking, otherwise it seems pretty clear.
