Obituary-
HINTON--Jack "J"., 70, died at Muskogee VA Hospital of cancer. He was born in Perue, KS on December 20, 1920, to, Willis B. and Verda Mae Hinton. He was a graduate of Perue High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WW II. He earned two medals: "Purple Heart" and "Congressional Medal of Honor". In 1968, he moved to Tulsa and worked for Consumer's gas station as a detailer until he retired in 1976. He was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church for several years and loved to sing. Jack was known to many of his friends as "The Candy Man", and will be missed by us all. Surviving are: his wife, Myrtle Hinton of Tulsa; daughter and son-in-law, Mamie & Earl Trisler of Tulsa; son, John Hinton of Tulsa; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are with Johnson's Funeral Home,Sperry. Service is 10:00AM Wednesday, August 21, 1991 at St. Mark's Methodist Church. Internment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
