Pherebee married John Hinton (1748-1818). They had at least one son, John Hinton (1770-1844), and two daughters, Mary Hinton Lane, and Grizelle Hinton Seawell (1782-1863).
Note: In 2006, The Hinton Family Cemetery at the old Clay Hill Plantation was disinterred and all remains were reinterred at the Oakwood Cemetery in Raliegh, Wake County, North Caroliana. The grave of Pherebee Smith Hinton was one of those.
