Catherine was born August 31, 1896, to John N. Hinton, farmer, and Alice A. Edwards, of Wolford.

Catherine was married secondly to Clarence Kalip Sherwood. He passed away in 1973.

Catherine married William 'Bill' Sherwood in 1974. He also predeceased her in 1986.

Obituary

Catherine Sherwood, former resident of the St. Lawrence Lodge, died April 10 at the Brockville General Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 92 years old.

Mrs. Sherwood was born August 31, 1896 at Bell's Crossings in Elizabethtown township. She was the daughter of the late John Nelson Hinton and the former Alice Anne Edwards.

She was raised and educated in the Jellyby area and helped on the family homestead.

She married Melvin Logan and the couple resided in Rocksprings. Mr. Logan drowned in the St. Lawrence River at an early age.

Mrs. Sherwood married Clarence Sherwood and they resided in the Prescott area. She was employed at Richards Restaurant in Prescott as a cook and was renowned in the area for her homemade cooking.

She retired to look after her husband when he took ill and Mr. Sherwood predeceased her in 1973.

On Oct. 19, 1974, Mrs. Sherwood married William (Bill) Sherwood in St. Peter's United Church Manse in Prescott. The couple lived in Maynard until September 1985 when they both entered St. Lawrence Lodge. Mr. Bill Sherwood predeceased his wife on May 12, 1986.
