John Hitchcock or Chapman alias Hitchcock was born circa 1560. He married Bridget Hungerford, daughter of Edmund Hungerford of North Standen. [1]

He is the legatee described as "uncle Hitchcock" mentioned in the 1643 will of Ursula Hungerford, daughter of his brother-in-law, Sir John Hungerford. [2]

John died in 1647. His will was dated 31 December 1646.
