Amherst Bee newspaper 17 Dec 1925:
"Obituaries- JAMES LADD HITCHCOCK - In Buffalo, on December 14, 1925, occurred the death of James Ladd Hitchcock, only son of the late James and Eliza Ladd Hitchcock. Funeral services are being held privately this morning with burial at Lancaster, N.Y. The Ladds were one of the old families of Williamsville and the late Mrs. Hitchcock was born in this town."
