Elizabeth most likely was born in England (possibly in Fenny Compton, Warwickshire, ENG). Rev. Thomas Hooker didn't settle the area until June 1636.[citation needed]

Some sources show her birth 1620 in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut, USA [1] and baptized on 8 Feb 1629 Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut.[2]

Elizabeth was the sister of William Gibbons (abt.1600-abt.1655) of Hartford, Connecticut. Information about William when he was in Hartford, states that he was from Fenny Compton, Warwick, England. In his will, which is included in The Genealogy of the Hitchcock Family, is the following statements about his 'sister': [3]

he left a bequest to his 'sister Hidgecocke' and to the children of his 'sister Hidgcock' and to the son John of his sister 'Hitchcok' and to his brother 'Hitchcock' The name Hitchcock is spelt in all the above ways in the same will.

Elizabeth Gibbons married 1st, Luke Hitchcock (1615-1659), in January of 1641. [1] [4] Luke died in 1659.[5][3][6]

Elizabeth and Luke had the following children: [3][5]

  1. John Calvin Hitchcock, mar Sep 27 1666 Hannah Chapin
  2. Hannah (Hitchcock) Smith, b 1645, d Aug 31 1733, mar Oct 2 1661 Chileah Smith of Hadley, Mass, had 14 children
  3. Luke Hitchcock II, b Jun 5 1655, d FEb 9 1712, m Feb 14 1676 Sarah Dorchester

Elizabeth, age 44, married 2nd, William Warriner (1582-1676) on 2 October 1661 in Hampden County, Springfield, Massachusetts, unsure if there were children born from their marriage. He died in 1676.[7] She took her two sons John and Luke with her to Springfield. [3]

She married 3rd, Joseph Baldwin, after Dec 8, 1676 (date of death for Isabelle Ward-Joseph Baldwins 2nd wife) [7], probably Sep 17 1678 in Milford, Massachusetts. [3]

After Joseph died, she returned to Springfield, Massachusetts. [3]

Elizabeth died on 25 Apr 1696 Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts, USA.[3] [8]

Elizabeth was buried on 25 April 1696 at an unknown location.

Research Notes

Elizabeth has been unlinked from parents . She was the daughter of Thomas Gibbons (abt.1500-) and Elizabeth (Pierpoint) Gibbons (abt.1540-) since their birth years are too early for this person.

Unless someone provides evidence that Elizabeth is the daughter of her purported parents my intention is to remove them as their dates make it impossible to be Elizabeth's parents.

I have unlinked the parents since they were born abt 1500, much too early to be parents of this person. Research Notes added with the parents wikitree ID, so it has their dates
Could you please check this profile: her purported father and mother would have been 117 and 77 respectively when she was born

Gibbon-115 and Gibbons-20 appear to represent the same person because: Both represent the same person. The details in the bio for 115 match the details for 20.

Gibbons-831 and Gibbons-20 appear to represent the same person because: Same vitals

Hitchcock-553 is the same person represented in Gibbons-20. I edited some of Hitchcock-553 in biography and birth year, so post merge edits easier for PM.

Did not correct name given at birth..currently Hitchcock....should be corrected to Gibbons in merge process.

Note: One of the duplicates of this person had different parents: James Gibbins (Gibbins-48) and Judith Lewis (Lewis-5042).
