DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Johannes by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Johannes:

I am a DuBois descendant and I have read that this man was not a descendant. However, Sarah Eltinge was the daughter of Cornelius Eltinge and Rebecca VanMeter, and was the granddaughter of Joost VanMeter and Sara DuBois, who were also my ancestors. Noland 588.

Probably my typo. It is Zara Elten.

Hi,

Guess something went wrong while connecting them, but removed Eiten-2 who was a man, as wife and mother of Johannes and one of the children.

The names are similar so I think it probably was just a typo eeh ?

Greets from the Netherlands,

Hite-18 and Hite-568 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same person, with same parents but are different profiles created by different people.
posted by Daniel Bly
Hite-568 and Hite-935 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles are the same people. Since the dual profiles of his father, Jost Heyd (Hite) have been merged, these now have to be merged.

Hite-8 and Hite-568 do not represent the same person because: Different birth and death dates. Different parents.

Hite-8 and Hite-569 appear to represent the same person because: Hite-8 has many sources that prove he is father of John Hite, who was married to Sarah Eltinge. Hite-569 father of John Hite (husband of Sarah Eltinge), has no other information on his profile and has no sources but is clearly the same man as Hite-8. the wife of Hite-569 is listed as Anna Maria DuBois, but information in profile of Hite-8 proves that the mother of Col. John Hite (Hite-568) was Anna Maria Merckle wife of Hite-8.

I am thinking this Anna Merkle you have may be the first wife.

I am pretty sure that this is the same John Hite and Sara Etling. I am see some discrepancies with his mother and siblings. I have his mother as Anna Maria Du Bois not Merkle. Jost or Johan matches up. I show he had 2 wives a Anna that I don't have a last name for, but they had 3 children. Mary, Elizabeth and Magdelene. Then I show him marrying Anna Maria Du Bois and they had 7 children. John, Martha, Sarah Catherine, Jacob, Isaac, Joseph and Abraham. Some of the names line up. This is from a book written on my family.OF WHOM I CAME; FROM WHENCE I CAME WELLS-WISE, RISH-WISE AND OTHERWISE BY ZELMA WELLS PRICE PUBLISHED 1959. NOTES TAKEN FROM VOL. 4 P.196-198. You can actually look at this book on Familysearch.com.

Hite-275 and Hite-18 appear to represent the same person because: The only discrepancy is the place of death. The correct town is Monocacy, not Monocracy. It is in Maryland, not Virginia, (although there are towns and counties called Frederick in both).
Hite-163 and Hite-134 appear to represent the same person because: Johannes (German) and John (English) are the same name.
